Gav Sidley began his music career as a sound engineer. Having qualified in 1996 at SAE Australia, he returned to South Africa. In summer 1998, he joined Just Jinjer as stage manager for their Summer ’98 tour. On returning from the tour, Gav bought a bass and 3 months later joined his first gigging cover band, Nevermind, embarking on a two year run, gigging almost every night. Since then, Gav has performed as a bass player with a number of top South African Artist, from Dozi and Dewald Dippenaar, Brent Harris (Just Jinjer), Gavin Morein (Just Jinjer), Nic Rush (Watershed), Mark Beling (Mean Mr Mustard), Kelvin Alston (Cherrykab) and Christian Heath. He currently plays bass for Kelvin Alston, Christian Heath and is a regular on stage with Mark Beling.
In 2015, Gav began his solo career, moving up front to take the mic. Having an extensive repertoire of songs from the 50s to today, he chose a solo repertoire of songs that stand the test of time. Performing hits from rock and pop legends such as Sting, Bryan Adams, Queen, George Michael to Michael Buble and Frank Sinatra, and a whole lot of older and newer hit songs, Gav is sure to please an audience with classic hit after classic hit.
