From the age of 8, Penny Schoeman has been singing in Johannesburg, South Africa, where she was born and raised and is currently living.
Penny’s passion for singing stems from her belief in the healing power of
music and the human voice.
She completed her Grade 8 and Performance Certificate in classical singing
through Trinity College of London, but in the early 2000’s decided to expand
her portfolio into the contemporary music scene, performing across all
genres including Rock, Pop and Country, both in her own capacity and as a
backing vocalist for a variety of local artists.
Her international studies of the power that music and singing has to heal
people, together with many years of working in a studio, doing recording,
editing and mixing as well as being a talented songwriter, has made Penny a
compassionate and knowledgeable voice coach, a versatile artist and a sought after judge.
The latter is evidenced by her organisational and judging roles in 2018 and
2019 at the Arnold Classic Africa, where talented artists from all over the
country come to compete annually for prize money.
Penny is available to perform at musical venues, as well as private and
corporate functions. She is currently working on a cabaret production,
scheduled to be launched in December 2019.
